This is my second draft for my DPS including the little tweaks I have made. I can now get feedback from my peers and make improvements based on this.

DPS: Tweaks
The first tweak I decided to make the blurb stand out more. I decided to colour it the same colour as the banner. I also added lines below and above the title and blurb.
Next I wanted to add some dotted lines between the columns.
I then decided to colour the questions in the interview in the same colour so that they stand out and break up the text.
I wanted to make the second pull quote stand out more, so I changed the font of a few words and changed the colour of them. I also added speech marks.

DPS Draft 1
This is my first draft of my double page spread. Again, I used InDesign to create these pages as it made it
easier to structure my pages and improve the layout. As I had already learned
how to use InDesign for my contents page, this wasn't as difficult to create.
However, I used some new features, such as drop caps, which took some time to
figure out how to add them correctly.

DPS: Construction- Pages 3&4 - Text
Next I wanted to insert another pull quote. Again, I drew a grey box, the same as the previous pages.
I then inserted the text that I wanted.
I then added the page number, year, month, masthead and website to the bottom of the pages.
Next I pasted the remainder of my article into the spaces in the columns.

DPS: Construction- Pages 3&4 - Images
Next I drew a black box at the top corner of the left hand page to place the artists name in, as the article is continuing on to these pages.
Then I added the text.
I then added a placeholder for the largest image on these two pages. This image will slightly overlap onto the other page. As I have said before, doing this allows me to find out the correct dimensions for my to edit my images.
I then inserted the image.
I inserted another two images, drawing a black box between them where I will write the caption.
I then added another image which will over the columns and I will tilt using the rotate tool.
Then I added the caption to the black box.
DPS: Construction- Second Page
On the next page, I added the title. I made the title quite large so that it would draw attention.
I wanted to include some colour so I added a banner behind the title, similar to the one on the contents page.
I then decided to change the colour of the title to white so it would stand out more on the coloured background.
Below the heading I added the blurb.
At the bottom of the right page I added the page number, year, month, masthead and website.
I then pasted part of my article into the three columns.
DPS: Construction- First Page
I wanted to keep all of my pages in the same document, so to begin making my double page spread I added four pages to the document.
On the first page of my dps I wanted an image to take up the full page. I placed a placeholder that filled the left page. This gave me the dimensions to re-size my image. Then I placed the image.

Next I wanted to add a pull quote from my article. I drew a grey box to highlight the quote.
I added the text into the box. I added the speech marks separately so I could make them larger than the text.

Contents Page: First Draft
This is my first draft of my contents pages. I can now get feedback from my peers and make improvements based on this.
To create this I used InDesign as it made it easier to structure my contents pages, however this was difficult as I have never used InDesign before and it took some time before I was used to using it.

Contents Page Construction: Adding text
I then added more images to the second pages. I had a photo to add into the left hand placeholder however when I went to insert it, I realised that it was blurry so I will have to retake it. For now, I have left the placeholder.
I then added page numbers, the month, date, masthead and website to the bottom of the pages.
I then added more text to the far right columns.
In the space below the "Regulars" I decided to include social media plugs. I used the same icons that I found for my cover, only this time I used the coloured ones.
I then added the rest of the contents in the spaces. Again, one of the images needs to be retaken, but for now I have inserted a placeholder.
I then added page numbers, the month, date, masthead and website to the bottom of the pages.
Finally I added corresponding numbers to the images.
Contents Page Construction: Re-sizing Image and Inserting
Next I wanted to add a picture of my main artist. First I added a placeholder to the space where I wanted the image to go. This gave me the dimensions to crop my image so that it would fit.
Contents Page Construction: Adding text to first page
Next I had to add text to my contents page. For the headings I placed white text over a coloured rectangle.
As the first piece of text is meant to be a feature, I wanted this to stand out. Initially, the text looked as shown below.
However, this would look the same as the rest of the text, so I decided to change it. Shown below is the updated text.
I then added the remaining text in this column and split the different text up by adding a line between them.
